The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has said that he has been supporting the government in the provisions of the resourceful equipment in the fight against the pandemic.

He said that in doing so, he has gone to several states in the southwest in solidarity with the federal government to protect the lives of people.

On his LinkedIn page, the monarch said he also took out time to discuss with the governors of the states on how to help their people throughout this trying time so they could get by.

The government urged governors to help the people survive through viable programmes.

Oba Adeyeye said as a way to show that “we need to look inwards” to solve the problems of the country, he donated things like truck fumigators.

He, therefore, added that Nigeria needs to look towards its young population as a group that could drive solutions for the country.

Meanwhile, we earlier reported that a popular Nigerian politician, Dino Melaye, gave out a fresh batch of relief materials to help people with the hard economic realities they are facing.

In a short video he posted on Twitter on Thursday, May 7, the politician said that he is giving bags of rice to the less privileged people of Kogi West.

He also cautioned against leaders taking the rice to their houses instead of giving them to the poor, adding that God will fight them if they do so.
