This deployment is aimed at safeguarding lives and proactively preventing any acts of vandalism targeting critical national, state, and local government assets during the festive period and beyond.

The NSCDC State’s Head of Media and Tactical, NSCDC Okadigbo Edwin, announced this deployment in a statement released on Thursday.

He stated that this initiative aligns with the recently launched joint security operation, “Operation Udo ga chi Zero Kidnapping and other violent crimes,” currently underway in the state.

According to Edwin, the NSCDC State Commandant, Maku Olatunde, issued the directive through a comprehensive operational order during the command’s tactical digest held on Wednesday at the State Command Headquarters in Awka.

The commandant directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Heads of Formations, and Composite Commanders to ensure adequate deployment of both personnel and assets to provide security coverage for all places of worship, recreational centers, amusement parks, markets, identified flashpoints, black spots, and other vulnerable areas.

This extensive coverage also includes critical national, state, and local government infrastructure, all in a concerted effort to guarantee an incident-free Easter celebration and its aftermath.

The statement further detailed that personnel deployed for this crucial assignment are drawn from various specialized units within the NSCDC, including the Operations department, Tactical Response Squad, Counter Terrorism Unit, Disaster Management, Investigation & Intelligence, Chemical Biological Radioactive Nuclear & Energy (CBRNE) unit, Critical National Assets & Infrastructure Protection (CNAIP) unit, Anti-vandalism unit, and the Female Special Squad.

Commandant Maku Olatunde cautioned all deployed personnel to maintain a high level of civility and professionalism in their conduct, emphasizing the importance of respecting the fundamental human rights of all citizens while discharging their duties with utmost decorum and vigilance.

Commandant Maku Olatunde extended warm Easter greetings to the people of Anambra State, particularly the Christian community, encouraging them to seek divine intervention for the nation’s well-being during this significant festive season.

He also urged all citizens to refrain from any form of violence, actively promote peace and unity within their communities, and seek divine guidance in fostering a more harmonious society.

The Anambra State Command of the NSCDC encouraged all members of the public to carry out their daily activities without fear, while remaining security-conscious and law-abiding.
