CIPM honours Olota of Otta with patronship for visionary leadership, receives support for youth empowerment

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) confers Patronship on the Olota of Otta, recognizing his leadership, and Kabiyesi pledges support for youth development with land or facility for training

[dropcap]H[/dropcap]is Majesty, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege, Ph.D, the Olota of Otta, today received a high-level delegation from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM, Ogun State Branch, Ota Chapter), led by the Chairperson, Mrs. Bertina Bamgbose, MCIPM, at the Ipeti Royal Square, Olota’s Palace.

The significant visit culminated in the formal conferment of Patronship upon His Majesty by the Institute. According to the CIPM delegation, this esteemed honor is in recognition of Kabiyesi’s visionary and transformative leadership, which has generated substantial positive impact across various sectors within Ottaland and beyond.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Mrs. Bamgbose stated, “We have closely observed Your Majesty’s inspiring leadership since your ascension.

Your consistent engagement with industries and critical stakeholders has helped preserve Otta’s status as a leading economic hub in Ogun State and Nigeria at large.”

She also respectfully requested Kabiyesi’s support for the Institute’s operational needs, specifically seeking assistance with land acquisition or access to a suitable building.

In his response, His Majesty expressed his sincere gratitude for the recognition and lauded the Institute’s unwavering dedication to excellence in human resource development.

Kabiyesi urged the CIPM to adopt progressive policies that actively promote employment opportunities for the nation’s youth.

Furthermore, Kabiyesi Olota advised the Institute to serve as a vital link between academia and industry,

particularly by facilitating curriculum development that aligns with the evolving demands of the modern workforce, thereby enhancing graduate employability and productivity.

Demonstrating his commitment to the delegation’s request and as part of his ongoing efforts towards youth empowerment, Kabiyesi generously offered a wing within the Otta Vocational Centre to facilitate the commencement of crucial training and retraining programs.

As an alternative, Kabiyesi proposed the allocation of a plot of land within Otta metropolis to further support the Institute’s developmental objectives.

The Seriki of Otta, High Chief Olarenwaju Abayomi Bashorun, joined His Majesty in extending a warm welcome to the CIPM delegation.

The CIPM delegation also included distinguished individuals such as a prominent son of Otta and immediate past Chairman of the Iganmode Club, Otunba Bolaji Oyedeko FCIPM, Mr Olasunbo Adetuyi MCIPM, Mr Oladele J. Balogun, Otunba Kazeem Bisiolu, and other notable members.

This significant event underscores the paramount importance of youth development in shaping the future prosperity of the Otta Kingdom.
