[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has officially welcomed Dr. Yunusa Adamu Dangwani, a former prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), into its fold.

The APC Chairman in Kano State, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, hailed the defection as a pivotal moment in the state’s political realignment.
During a gathering of party leaders and supporters, Chairman Abbas asserted that the defection of Dr. Dangwani, along with other respected leaders like Hon. Kawu Sumaila, signals the demise of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano. He confidently predicted an easy victory for the APC in the 2027 elections.
“With the likes of Dr. Dangwani, Hon. Kawu Sumaila, and many other respected leaders abandoning the sinking ship of the NNPP, it is now obvious the NNPP is dead in Kano.
Let me tell Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his blind followers: your time is up. The APC will take over power in 2027 with ease, God willing,” Abbas stated.
He emphasized that the APC is gaining momentum daily and is now poised to lead Kano with strength, unity, and a clear vision.

Dr. Dangwani, in his remarks, explained his decision to join the APC, citing the party’s structure, vision, and capacity to drive genuine development in Kano.
He criticized the PDP for losing direction and becoming a platform for personal ambition rather than public service.
“I have returned to the APC because I believe this is the party with the structure, vision, and capacity to lead Kano toward genuine development.
The PDP has lost direction and has become a platform for personal ambition, not public service. I am proud to stand with the APC once again,” Dr. Dangwani said.
Chairman Abbas extended an invitation to other progressives in Kano to join the APC as the party prepares to restore effective leadership in 2027.
