David Justice Halle Berry marriage may have ended decades ago, but the former American baseball star still believes things could have turned out differently

Speaking on the All The Smoke podcast, Justice opened up about his highly publicized marriage to Hollywood actress Halle Berry, which ended in 1997 after just four years. He admitted that the lack of experience and relationship tools like therapy contributed to the failure of the union.

Compatibility and Traditional Expectations

Justice candidly revealed that one of the key issues in the relationship was compatibility, especially around lifestyle expectations.

“In my mind, I’m thinking a wife at that time should cook, clean, [be] traditional,” he said.

“Then I’m thinking, ‘Okay, if we have kids, is this the woman I want to have kids with?’”

If we knew about therapy, we probably could have made it.

He added that Berry’s demanding acting career, which often kept her traveling, added distance — both physical and emotional to the marriage.

Therapy Might Have Changed Everything

Despite their challenges, Justice expressed deep reflection, admitting the couple lacked awareness about the value of therapy.

“We honestly probably could have made it if I knew about therapy,” he shared.
