Midea ProShop Abuja launch impresses with luxury, tech, and impact. A bold step redefining smart living and partnerships across Africa

Midea ProShop Abuja was officially launched in a dazzling event that fused cutting-edge technology, luxury, and a powerful humanitarian mission — a bold declaration that the future of smart living has landed in Africa.

Located at the sleek Citiscape Shariff Plaza, the Midea ProShop Abuja isn’t just a store — it’s an experience centre.

Crafted with architectural precision and product sophistication, it allows consumers to explore and interact with Midea’s award-winning HVAC and smart home technologies in real time.

“This is not just about showcasing appliances. It is about reimagining how people live,” said Mr. Bright Yau, Regional Director of Midea Group Africa.

Beyond the showroom, the launch was accompanied by a prestigious gala at the Hilton Hotel, drawing dignitaries, stakeholders, global partners, and influencers.

The event underscored Midea’s mission — to fuse innovation with impact.

At the centre of product revelations was the UNICOOL air conditioner, designed specifically for African households and powered by GEN GEAR technology. With smart features like:

  • 500W operation on small generators
  • Built-in voltage stabilizer (80V–285V)
  • Salt and sun-resistant graphene fins
  • SmartHome app integration
  • Dual-room cooling via branch box tech

UNICOOL isn’t just another appliance — it’s a smart, resilient response to Africa’s energy realities.

In a groundbreaking move, Midea announced a partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), aimed at improving the living conditions of migrants in Nigeria.

“This collaboration will directly impact lives… when companies align with humanitarian goals, change is inevitable,” stated Ms. Sharon Dimanche, Chief of Mission, IOM Nigeria.

Mr. Yau echoed the sentiment, affirming Midea’s commitment to grow with Nigeria not just economically but socially, launching the Midea Mighty Academy — a training platform to equip locals with world-class installation and service skills.

Further announcements included Midea’s official CAF-AFCON partnership, connecting the brand with Africa’s sports fans, and the launch of Club Midea, a loyalty program offering:

  • Early access to launches
  • Training and certifications
  • Rewards and recognition
  • Advanced after-sales support

Midea also hosted a Feedback Engagement Session, gathering insights from distributors and partners.

It was a listening initiative to understand market needs and adapt in real time — a mark of a company committed to evolution.

The Midea ProShop Abuja launch was more than a corporate event — it was a power move laced with elegance, empathy, and bold intent.

From smart cooling to smart partnerships, Midea is not just setting up shop; it’s anchoring a legacy.
