Abdul-Muiz Olanrewaju Animashaun’s 8th Day Fidau Prayers in Abeokuta drew loved ones and clerics who praised his exemplary life and lasting legacy.

Abdul-Muiz Olanrewaju Animashaun was honoured at his 8th Day Fidau Prayers in Abeokuta, where family, friends and clerics gathered to celebrate the life of a man remembered for humility, brilliance and deep humanity.

The solemn ceremony on 16 September 2025 brought together loved ones from across Nigeria and beyond.

Childhood friends travelled from as far as Canada to bid farewell, a testament to the enduring bonds Animashaun nurtured throughout his lifetime.

Dr Abdulhameed Adewole, Chief Imam of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Lekki, delivered the sermon, urging the congregation to live humble and exemplary lives just as the late Animashaun had done.

Other religious leaders present included Imam Said Busary, Alhaji Kaseem Fasasi, Imam Taoheed Ajayi, Imam Shuaib Adejumo and Khalifah Tajudeen Adeola.

Born the youngest of five siblings in Lagos, Animashaun’s life was defined by academic excellence, strong family values and an unwavering devotion to Islam.

He studied at Unilag Staff School, Government College Lagos, Dover College in the UK and later pursued Law at Thames Valley University. His career in real estate in Wembley earned him a reputation for hard work and resourcefulness.

In 1995, his life was transformed when he met Nina, a Finnish student who became his wife and lifelong partner. Together they raised three children, Omar, Aisha and Aliyah, while balancing family life between Abeokuta and the UK.

Animashaun was widely respected as a man of faith, wit and charm. Beyond his professional success, he was passionate about classic cars, good food, travel and Yoruba history, particularly the culture of the Egba people.

Those who spoke at the Fidau described him as warm, caring and endlessly sociable, qualities that will be dearly missed.

He was born on April 2, 1965 and died September 8, 2025.
