Sokoto State recruitment clears form confusion, assuring indigenes of fair access and warning applicants against payment demands

Sokoto State recruitment has been thrown into the spotlight after concerns emerged over difficulties in accessing application forms for the government’s ongoing employment exercise.

In a statement on Friday, the Secretary of the Recruitment Committee, Gandi Muhammad, confirmed that no qualified state indigene would be disadvantaged, stressing that all forms are free and available without restriction.

He explained that some applicants had reported challenges in collecting forms from their local government areas, but clarified that candidates holding a first degree, HND, or NCE could apply directly through the official portal at https://employment.sokotostate.gov.ng, with or without physical forms.

The recruitment drive, which began on 22 September, will run until 6 October 2025. Applicants are required to create an account with a valid email and phone number, complete their biodata accurately, and upload essential documents such as educational certificates, proof of indigene, birth certificate, National Identification Number, and a recent passport photograph.

Muhammad warned that multiple submissions could lead to disqualification and emphasised that the process is entirely free.

He urged applicants not to pay anyone, adding that shortlisted candidates would be notified through the portal or by email, with further screening or testing details communicated officially.

“The committee is therefore soliciting the support and cooperation of all well-meaning citizens of the State towards the success of its assignment,” Muhammad concluded.

The reassurance is expected to ease tension among prospective applicants and reinforce confidence in the fairness of the Sokoto State recruitment exercise.
