Ehi Braimah slams selfish politicians over political crisis

Ehi Braimah criticises selfish politicians for creating crises instead of solutions, accusing them of prioritising personal gain over national unity

Ehi Braimah, a respected public relations consultant and publisher of Naija Times, has criticised Nigerian politicians for being selfish and self-centred, accusing them of creating crises instead of finding solutions.

Speaking during an interview on Sunrise Daily, Braimah said recent political manoeuvres surrounding the proposed convention scheduled for November in Ibadan expose how some politicians prioritise personal interests over national stability.

He revealed that some political figures have been pushing forcefully for the convention to hold under specific conditions, which, according to him, may be part of a deliberate plan linked to the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike.

“Maybe that’s the role Wike is playing—having one leg in the APC and another in the PDP,” Ehi Braimah stated. “So anything he’s doing with his associates is not to create peace but to stir up crisis.”

Braimah expressed frustration over what he described as a troubling pattern of political selfishness that has long undermined progress in Nigeria’s democracy.

“Politicians generally are not helping our case. They are so self-centred, they just think about themselves,” he said firmly, adding that the lack of genuine leadership continues to erode public trust.

The PR expert urged politicians to show integrity and responsibility by focusing on national development rather than personal ambition.

He described the ongoing political wrangling as a distraction from real governance and a betrayal of citizens’ hopes.

As debates over the planned Ibadan convention continue, Ehi Braimah’s warning serves as a sharp reminder of the need for accountability, empathy, and purposeful leadership in Nigeria’s political space.
