CAF Awards 2025 saw Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie win her third consecutive award, while Osimhen and Ajibade missed out on top honours
Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie once again dominated the CAF Awards 2025, securing the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year Award for a third consecutive year at Wednesday night’s ceremony in Rabat, Morocco, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Nigeria’s captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, narrowly missed out on the Women’s Player of the Year Award, which went to Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak.
Despite the disappointment, Ajibade’s leadership was central to the Super Falcons’ record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations triumph in July.
On the men’s side, Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi lifted the Men’s Player of the Year Award ahead of Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen, the 2023 winner, and Mohamed Salah, the 2018 recipient.
Hakimi’s victory ended Nigeria’s two-year winning streak with Osimhen and Ademola Lookman.
The awards ceremony, hosted in Morocco for the third straight year, also celebrated young talent.
Morocco’s Doha El Madani and U-20 World Cup winner Othmane Maamma won the women’s and men’s Young Player of the Year awards, respectively, ahead of Nigeria’s Shakirat Moshood, who captained the Flamingos to the U-17 World Cup second round.
For the third year running, the Super Falcons were named Women’s National Team of the Year, triumphing over Ghana and Morocco.
Meanwhile, the Morocco U-20 team, fresh from their World Cup victory in Chile, claimed the Men’s National Team of the Year award.
Nnadozie’s victory was particularly notable, as she outshone Morocco’s Khadija Er-Rmichi and South Africa’s Andile Dlamini.
In the men’s category, Morocco’s Yassine Bonou reclaimed the Goalkeeper of the Year title from South Africa’s Ronwen Williams.
CAF Champions League holders Pyramids of Egypt won the Men’s Club of the Year award, with striker Fiston Mayele claiming the CAF Interclub Player of the Year after scoring nine goals en route to the club’s first title.
Cape Verde coach Bubista was named Men’s Coach of the Year after guiding the nation to its first-ever FIFA World Cup qualification.
The evening was marked by electrifying performances from Congolese legend Awilo Longomba and Grammy-winning Angélique Kidjo, alongside musicians Douaa Lahyaoui and Fuse ODG, highlighting the continent’s rich cultural diversity.

Despite misses for Osimhen and Ajibade, the CAF Awards 2025 celebrated African football excellence, with Morocco and Nigeria sharing the spotlight across men’s and women’s categories.
