E1 Lagos 2026 race will see world’s fastest electric boats compete across four continents, marking the series’ return to Nigeria

The E1 Series, the world’s first all-electric raceboat championship, will return to Lagos, Nigeria, for the 2026 season, organisers announced on Wednesday.

The 2026 calendar features races across four continents, with Lagos hosting the sixth round of the championship from 3–4 October 2026.

The E1 Series made its African debut on the Lagos waterways in October 2025, becoming the first city on the continent to host the high-octane event.

Team Brazil claimed victory at the Lagos Grand Prix and the penultimate race of the 2025 season, marking their first-ever win in the series.

Team Brady, owned by NFL legend Tom Brady, recently secured a second consecutive E1 World Championship in Miami, highlighting the global expansion and competitive intensity of the championship.

The 2026 season will begin in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in January, before moving to Europe with stops at Lake Como, Italy, in April, Dubrovnik, Croatia, in June, and Monaco in mid-July, where Team Monaco will compete on home waters for the first time.

Following Lagos, the championship will return to North America, with Miami hosting its penultimate race, before concluding in the Bahamas—the series’ first-ever Caribbean event.

Organisers emphasised that the diverse locations reflect E1’s commitment to combining thrilling competition with sustainable marine innovation.

Founder Alejandro Agag said the new season underscores E1’s vision to inspire change through sport.

“Our 2026 calendar marks an exciting new chapter for us. We’re establishing a truly global championship that combines cutting-edge electric innovation with iconic coastal cities and new markets,” Agag said.

E1 CEO Rodi Basso added that the series continues to showcase the potential of electric marine mobility.

“This calendar demonstrates our ambition—reaching more countries, engaging more fans, and showing that sustainability and high-performance sport can go hand in hand,” he said.
