Senator Mudashiru Husain criticises Governor Ademola Adeleke’s absence in a bold security warning as concerns rise across Osun State

Senator Mudashiru Husain, a leading All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant in Osun State, issued a bold security warning on Friday as Husain Criticises Adeleke for what he described as a failure of leadership amid rising public anxiety.

Senator Husain commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he called a decisive and coordinated response to Nigeria’s security challenges, while sharply faulting Governor Ademola Adeleke for remaining outside the state during a period of heightened concern.

Senator Husain said President Tinubu had demonstrated clear resolve through reforms and active support for security agencies working to stabilise troubled areas.

He argued that the federal leadership had shown an understanding of the urgency required to protect citizens at a time when communities continued to face pressure.

The former Osun West senator contrasted this with what he labelled a worrying pattern at the state level.

He criticised Governor Adeleke for a prolonged absence that, in his view, denied residents visible leadership and reassurance at a sensitive moment.

Senator Husain said a governor must be present to coordinate security responses, consult community leaders and maintain public confidence.

He claimed the situation aligned with broader concerns he had repeatedly raised over the governor’s record in the past three years, including the condition of local government administration and the extended closure of the judiciary.

He also pointed to complaints about the quality of some public projects and a decline in essential sectors such as health, agriculture and transportation.

Senator Husain described the mood in Osun as increasingly restless and insisted that residents deserved a government that responded promptly and transparently.

He said the APC was preparing for the 2026 elections and framed the contest as a choice between stagnation and what he called a progressive alternative determined to restore purpose and credibility to state institutions.
