Time-Out-With-Kate 3.0 inspires entrepreneurs on transgenerational business

Time-Out-With-Kate 3.0 empowers Lagos entrepreneurs with strategies for building sustainable, transgenerational businesses and long-term wealth

Over 250 entrepreneurs, business owners, and C-suite executives gathered last week for the third edition of Time-Out-With-Kate 3.0, an annual business-growth conference founded by Dr. (Mrs.) Catherine Opeyemi Adesomoju.

The summit, themed “Building Transgenerational Businesses,” took place at Ikeja and featured insights from business, health, and family-life mentors.

Dr. Adesomoju, widely known as Sister Kate, serves as MD/CEO of Spectrum Holdings, overseeing Spectrum Innovation Technologies Ltd. and Spectrum Phones Ltd., with a workforce exceeding 200 employees across Nigeria and parts of Africa.

She delivered the keynote address, “From Rich to Wealthy: Building Transgenerational Wealth,” highlighting the difference between short-term riches and sustainable wealth through structured business practices and ethical leadership.

Using the acronym R.I.C.H., Sister Kate described “rich” individuals as Revenue-focused, Image-driven, Cash-heavy but Capital-poor, and hustling without long-term integrity.

In contrast, W.E.A.L.T.H.Y. entrepreneurs are Wise, Enthusiastic, Action-driven Learners leveraging Technology, prioritising Health, and Yielding to God in decision-making.

Quoting Genesis 1:1, she urged attendees to create value intentionally, systemize operations, scale businesses thoughtfully, and develop successors to ensure sustainability across generations.

Other speakers included leadership strategist Niyi Adesanya, who reinforced the importance of transferable mindsets and structured systems, and Goke and Abimbola Balogun, co-CEOs of SoFresh. Prof. Folu Olatona, Dr. Abiola Salami, and Mrs. Yomi Adewale also shared expertise on entrepreneurship and business leadership.

The conference was fully sponsored by His Presence Foundation, supporting educational scholarships, business grants for women-led SMEs, and humanitarian initiatives including food distribution and interdenominational outreach.

Dr. Adesomoju, a University of Ilorin Business Administration graduate and FIBAKM Fellow, holds an honorary doctorate in Corporate Leadership and Entrepreneurship Management.
