CAF releases AFCON 2025 prohibited items list, warning fans against alcohol, weapons, drones, and other banned objects at tournament stadiums

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled a list of prohibited items for fans attending Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 matches, as the tournament kicks off on December 21 in Morocco.

CAF stated that the guidelines, published on its official website on Monday, aim to ensure safety and maintain order across all tournament stadiums. Security screening will be conducted for all attendees.

Fans are strongly advised not to bring alcohol, illegal substances, weapons, fireworks, glass containers, flammable materials, drones, or animals into stadiums.

Additionally, unauthorised political, religious, or commercial signs, professional cameras, musical instruments, loud horns, and oversized hats are banned. Heavy or large bags are also prohibited.

“The rules are designed to safeguard spectators and provide a smooth match-day experience,” CAF said.

These measures are part of CAF’s broader effort to maintain a secure environment during the tournament, which will feature matches across multiple Moroccan cities.

Fans are encouraged to adhere strictly to the guidelines to avoid delays or denial of entry.

By enforcing these rules, CAF hopes to ensure that AFCON 2025 is safe, enjoyable, and focused on football.
