MIPAD honours Seleem Adegunwa as top FMCG executive

Seleem Adegunwa, Rite Foods CEO, wins MIPAD Most Influential FMCG Executive of the Year award for exceptional leadership and impact

Seleem Adegunwa, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Rite Foods Limited, has been named the Most Influential FMCG Executive of the Year by the Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) at the 2025 MIPAD End of Year Dinner & Awards in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The award recognises Adegunwa’s leadership and commitment to excellence, which MIPAD says continues to inspire performance across Africa’s business landscape.

The global civil society initiative celebrates individuals whose influence transcends borders and generations in alignment with the United Nations’ International Decades for People of African Descent.

Adegunwa’s leadership has positioned Rite Foods as a market leader in Nigeria’s Food and Beverage industry, with products including Bigi Carbonated Soft Drinks, Bigi Table Water, Sosa Fruit Drink, Fearless Energy Drink, and the Bigi Flex, Rite Spicy, and Bigi Beef Sausages lines.

Tope Esan, Co-Founder of MIPAD, noted, “MIPAD recognises individuals whose impact transcends borders and generations, and Adegunwa’s commitment to excellence aligns with our vision.”

The MIPAD Awards brought together industry leaders, policymakers, media figures, and experts to celebrate outstanding contributions to Africa’s development.

Past honourees include President Barack Obama, Chimamanda Adichie, Usain Bolt, Beyoncé, and Naomi Osaka.

Adegunwa’s recognition adds to a string of recent accolades for Rite Foods, including three awards at the 2025 Edge Awards for Bigi Apple, Bigi Beef Sausage Roll, and Rite Foods Limited as Outstanding FMCG Corporate Brand of the Year.
