Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel has renewed calls for unity among Ijebu people to achieve state creation from the old Ijebu Province.
Speaking on Sunday during the BATOGD Movement Tour of Odogbolu Local Government, Daniel said unity remains the most critical requirement.
He warned that without a common front, the National Assembly would not approve the proposal.
Daniel disclosed that stakeholders were close to agreeing on the proposed name and capital of the new state, to be called Ijebu-Remo State.
He cautioned that failure to reach consensus could allow external interests to impose decisions.
The former Ogun governor said the proposed state would consist of nine local government councils, stressing that anything less would fail.
He reaffirmed his commitment, stating he does not pursue projects he cannot complete.
Daniel also urged residents to participate fully in the APC e-registration exercise, which has commenced nationwide.
He called on party members to register at their ward secretariats from next week.
The senator encouraged supporters to back President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his own senatorial re-election bid.
He noted that the Odogbolu visit marked the seventh stop of the BATOGD Movement tour since its launch in September 2025.
Daniel said the movement promotes accountability, grassroots engagement, and support for the Renewed Hope Agenda.
