The summit, scheduled for Thursday, 29 January at Lagos’s Federal Palace Hotel, gathers storytellers, innovators, and entrepreneurs under the theme “Building a Sustainable Ecosystem Where Africa Trades Its Swag.”
The event aligns with Facebook’s mission to equip creators with tools for audience growth, monetisation, discovery, and community engagement.
Oluwasola Obagbemi, Head of Communications, Sub-Saharan Africa at Meta, said: “We are dedicated to empowering creators in the communities they’re already active in so they can succeed and grow on Facebook while sharing original and engaging content.”
She added that the summit offers participants the chance to experience Facebook’s capabilities firsthand, including ways to reach global audiences, deepen connections, and generate revenue across various content formats.
The event will feature interactive sessions at Facebook’s booth, providing creators, young adults, and Nigerian celebrities with opportunities to collaborate, showcase talent, and explore community-building strategies.
Oladapo Adewunmi, convener of the African Creators Summit, highlighted the importance of creators: “Creators are the teachers and architects of modern culture. What they build today becomes the standard tomorrow, shaping how we dress, think, and show up in the world.”
He noted that Facebook’s support underscores the platform’s commitment to fostering a Pan-African creative ecosystem and empowering creators to drive cultural influence and economic growth.
