The declaration was conveyed in a statement issued on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi, outlining plans for residents to participate fully in the Golden Jubilee activities.

Tokunbo Talabi said the public holiday is intended to enable citizens to take part in the commemorative events organised to mark five decades of Ogun State’s political existence, steady growth, and notable contributions to national development.

The statement called on residents to celebrate the historic milestone in an atmosphere of unity and peace, while reaffirming the administration’s commitment to consolidating past achievements and accelerating the state’s development agenda for the benefit of all.

Tokunbo Talabi added that Governor Dapo Abiodun urged citizens to take advantage of the public holiday to actively engage in the line up of events marking the 50th anniversary of the Gateway State.
