NBA commends Uba Sani Kurmin Wali Rescue, praising prompt action and support for abducted victims in Kaduna State
The Kaduna Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association has commended Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, alongside local security agencies, for their decisive action in the recent rescue of 183 Kurmin Wali kidnapping victims. The announcement was made in Kaduna on Thursday, February 6, 2026.

Barrister Baba Lawal Aliyu, Chairman of the Kaduna NBA, praised the governor’s prompt response, noting his visit to the affected community as a critical demonstration of leadership. The association urged sustained security measures to prevent future kidnappings and called for ongoing medical and psychosocial support for the rescued individuals to ensure full recovery and reintegration.
Governor Uba Sani received the victims at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, pledging temporary accommodation and comprehensive care before their return to Kurmin Wali. The governor also outlined long-term development plans, including the construction of a primary healthcare centre, a skills acquisition centre, and an access road to strengthen the community’s resilience.
The NBA further highlighted the collaborative approach employed by the Kaduna government, working closely with community leaders, religious bodies, and security agencies. Barrister Aliyu emphasised that such partnerships are vital for promoting lasting peace and safeguarding lives.
