The SMDF PAGMI training, focused on professional ethics and personal effectiveness, formed part of a broader series of programmes designed to equip staff with the skills and knowledge required for diligent service delivery.

Hajiya Fatima Shinkafi, represented by her Personal Assistant, Alhaji Abdullahi Odey, said the initiative was aimed at reinforcing work ethic, enhancing productivity and improving overall performance within the agency.

Hajiya Fatima Shinkafi stressed the need for staff to uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency and accountability in the discharge of their responsibilities.

She described ethical conduct and personal discipline as central to achieving the organisation’s reform agenda and long term goals.

The Executive Secretary listed professionalism, effective communication, teamwork, mutual respect and time management as core values necessary for delivering quality public service.

According to Hajiya Fatima Shinkafi, a strong work ethic remains the foundation of organisational trust, operational efficiency and a healthy workplace culture.

The founder of Coaching, Counselling and Allied Services, Hajiya Amina Jambo, alongside other facilitators, highlighted time management as a key pillar in developing sound personal and professional ethics.

The Head of Corporate Communications at SMDF, Mrs Idowu Jokpeyibo, said the programme offered participants an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to ongoing mining sector reforms.

Mrs Idowu Jokpeyibo commended the leadership of the agency for prioritising staff welfare and capacity development to support institutional growth.

The Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Development Initiative was established to connect artisanal miners to formal markets through a National Gold Purchase Programme, promote safer mining practices and ensure responsible sourcing.
