JTI Nigeria reaffirms gender equity commitment on Women’s Day

JTI Nigeria gender equity commitment highlighted as the company marks International Women’s Day with renewed focus on inclusive leadership and workplace equality

Japan Tobacco International Nigeria (JTI Nigeria), led by General Manager Abdallah Simba, has reaffirmed its gender equity commitment while joining the global community to mark International Women’s Day 2026.

Speaking during the commemoration in Lagos, Abdallah Simba said empowering women in the workplace remains both a social responsibility and a strategic driver of sustainable business growth.

Simba stressed that organisations benefit when women have equal access to leadership pathways and professional development opportunities.

According to Abdallah Simba, diverse perspectives help build stronger teams and support more effective decision making.

The renewed JTI Nigeria gender equity commitment reflects the company’s wider policy of promoting merit, fairness and equal opportunity across its workforce.

The organisation has introduced structured talent development initiatives, mentorship programmes and flexible work arrangements designed to support employees and nurture leadership capacity.

Abdallah Simba described International Women’s Day as a valuable moment to assess progress and reaffirm commitments.

The General Manager said the company remains determined to sustain an inclusive workplace where individuals can grow, contribute meaningfully and take on leadership roles.

JTI Nigeria has earned recognition as a Top Global Employer for ten consecutive years, reflecting its consistent investment in employee wellbeing and workplace standards.
