Nigerian military arrests popular TikTok bandit Sule Yellow (suleyellow6) during targeted operation after ransom collection

The Nigerian military has apprehended Sule Yellow, a notorious individual known on TikTok as suleyellow6, following a targeted intelligence operation on 15 March 2026.

The TikTok account has since been deactivated and is no longer publicly accessible.

According to military sources, Sule Yellow was previously observed participating in a TikTok Live session earlier this month, openly appearing with other individuals involved in illicit activities and displaying their actions online.

Eyewitnesses reported that his arrest occurred while he was returning from collecting a ransom payment for a kidnapped victim.

Despite the formidable image Sule Yellow projected online, his demeanor reportedly changed dramatically at the moment of his capture.

He appeared visibly distressed, trembling and fidgeting, and struggled to communicate as military personnel secured him.

The operation highlights the increasing role of open-source intelligence (OSINT) in tracking criminals who use social media platforms to flaunt illicit activities.

Observers have praised the Nigerian troops for the successful operation.

“This arrest sends a strong message that the military is actively monitoring and apprehending individuals exploiting social media for criminal purposes,” a military spokesperson said.

The apprehension of Sule Yellow marks a significant victory in ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and banditry across Nigeria.
