Ondo APC leaders praise Aiyedatiwa infrastructure development and warn against distractions from court cases amid governance efforts

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State have commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for advancing Aiyedatiwa infrastructure development across the 18 local government areas of the state, while cautioning against distractions from ongoing legal challenges.

The party leaders, operating under the Concerned Grassroots Leaders in Ondo APC, issued the warning amid recent court proceedings that have drawn attention to the governor’s political future.

A Federal High Court sitting in Akure last week halted the purported ambition of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to seek re-election. However, the governor clarified that he had not declared any intention to contest for a second term.

Speaking with journalists in Akure on Monday, the convener of the group, Chief Babajide Akinwolere, said the governor had shown strong and purposeful leadership, urging litigants not to derail ongoing governance efforts.

“People should not distract the governor with unnecessary litigation; he is doing well in the state,” Babajide Akinwolere said.

“His administration has continued to place the welfare of the people at the centre of governance, while ensuring that development reaches every part of the state.”

Babajide Akinwolere highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects, noting that the government had both sustained inherited initiatives and launched new ones to improve transportation, boost economic activity and enhance connectivity between communities.

“These efforts are laying a solid foundation for sustainable development in Ondo State,” Babajide Akinwolere added.

He also cited improvements in education, healthcare services, youth empowerment and support for small and medium-scale enterprises as key achievements of the administration.

Another party chieftain, Dele Akarigbo, described Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as a law-abiding leader who respects the judicial process and would comply with court rulings.

“Whatever the court says, our governor is ready to abide by the judicial pronouncement,” Dele Akarigbo said.

Dele Akarigbo, however, noted that public opinion could still play a decisive role in the governor’s political future if residents express support for his leadership at the appropriate time.

The remarks come as political stakeholders in Ondo State continue to balance governance priorities with emerging legal and electoral considerations surrounding the administration.
