Governor Chukwuma Soludo swears in Mrs Chiamaka Nnake and 13 other officials, urging dedication, teamwork, and service to the people of Anambra State

The Prof Chukwuma Soludo on Wednesday swore in Mrs Chiamaka Nnake alongside 13 other newly appointed key state officials at the State Executive Council Chamber of the Government House, commonly known as the “Light House,” in Awka.

Prof Soludo tasked the appointees with delivering optimal services to the people of Anambra, stressing that the positions were a call to selfless service rather than personal enrichment.

The new officials took the oath of office at 12:47pm, following the swearing in of the state’s Attorney-General, Tobechukwu Nweke, by former Solicitor-General, Mrs Ngozi Iwouno.

The appointees include Mrs Ngozi Iwouno as Head of Service; Joachim Anetoh as Principal Secretary to the Governor; Dr Ben Nwankwo as Chief of Staff; Prof Frank-Collins Okafor as State Chief of Protocol; Izuchukwu Okafor as Commissioner for Finance; Christian Aburime as Chief Press Secretary; Dr Vincent Okechi as Deputy Chief of Staff; Ms Ngozi Okoye as Deputy State Chief of Protocol; Dr Godwin Nnadozie as Special Adviser on Medicals and Pharmaceuticals; Ms Chinwe Okoli as Special Adviser on Innovation and Business Incubation; Prof Ebuka Nwankwo as Special Adviser on Special Projects; and Ken Emeakayi as Special Adviser on Community Security.

Addressing the team, Prof Soludo emphasised that each appointment followed careful vetting and was part of the administration’s efforts to strengthen governance and expand service delivery.

“This is not just a ceremony. You have taken the oath, and beyond this moment, reflect on what it means. Your service is about collaboration, coordination, and value,” he said.

He reminded the officials that the work ahead would require dedication, sacrifice, and availability beyond conventional hours.

“Be ready to receive my calls at 1:30 am if necessary. Service to the people is a 24/7 assignment,” Prof Soludo added.

Speaking after the exercise, the governor’s spokesman, Christian Aburime, highlighted that while the first term focused on laying foundations, the second term prioritises execution. He pledged enhanced media relations to ensure credible, transparent reporting of government activities.
