Mikel Obi family allegations surface as woman claims abuse and public humiliation, calls for justice in viral social media video

A woman identified as Andrew Obi has made a series of serious allegations against the family of former Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi, claiming prolonged mistreatment and calling for justice in a video shared on social media.

In the Facebook video, which has begun circulating widely online, the woman alleged that she endured years of domestic challenges and emotional distress during her marriage to a member of the Obi family.

She stated that she no longer wishes to be associated with the family name and intends to pursue a divorce.

Andrew Obi further claimed that she and her children were publicly embarrassed during a condolence visit following the reported death of a relative, identified as Chioma Obi. According to her account, the incident occurred during a wake-keeping event attended by family members and associates.

The woman also accused multiple members of the family, including John Mikel Obi, of contributing to what she described as years of hardship.

She alleged that the situation had persisted for nearly two decades and called on the family to publicly respond to her claims.

“These are her personal allegations, and they remain unverified,” observers note, as no official response has yet been issued by the footballer or his representatives at the time of reporting.

The video has since triggered widespread reactions across Nigerian social media, with users expressing mixed views and calling for clarity, accountability, and due process.

Domestic abuse advocates have also highlighted the importance of handling such claims with sensitivity, urging affected individuals to seek appropriate legal and support channels.

As of Monday, there has been no formal statement from John Mikel Obi or his family regarding the allegations.
