The Youth Alliance appeals to President Tinubu and Aliko Dangote as Boko Haram issues a 72-hour ultimatum for the release of 416 abducted victims

The (BOSYA) has requested the immediate intervention of the Federal Government of Nigeria and prominent philanthropists following a seventy-two hour ultimatum issued by insurgents regarding four hundred and sixteen abducted persons.

Borno South Youth Alliance President, Samaila Ibrahim Kaigama, confirmed, that the terrorist group Boko Haram has demanded a five billion naira ransom for the release of the captives.

The crisis involves a large group of women and children who were seized from the Ngoshe community in Borno State and have remained in captivity despite ongoing mediation efforts.

Samaila Ibrahim Kaigama reported that the alliance received a final warning video from the insurgents after previous demands were communicated, prompting the group to seek urgent financial and logistical support to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe.

The appeal for assistance was specifically directed toward President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, as well as the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum.

Samaila Ibrahim Kaigama emphasised that the state government and federal authorities must employ every lawful means available to ensure the safety of the four hundred and sixteen citizens before the deadline expires.

In an unusual move reflecting the scale of the financial demand, the Borno South Youth Alliance also called upon Nigeria’s leading business figures, including Aliko Dangote and Abdul Samad Rabiu.

Samaila Ibrahim Kaigama noted that the collective wealth and influence of northern billionaires could provide the formidable support needed to navigate the delicate mediation process and secure the freedom of the vulnerable women and children.

The statement detailed that specific instructions regarding the release process had been provided by the captors during the mediation led by the alliance.

Samaila Ibrahim Kaigama described the situation as a dire humanitarian emergency that requires a unified response from both the state and the private sector to preserve human life and uphold regional security.

As the seventy-two hour window narrows, the Borno South Youth Alliance remains the primary liaison between the community and the authorities.

Samaila Ibrahim Kaigama stressed that the compassion and unity of well-meaning Nigerians are now the final hope for the residents of Ngoshe, who face an uncertain fate without rapid intervention from the nation’s stakeholders.
