Inter Milan secured the Scudetto in front of jubilant fans, extending their lead to an unassailable position with three matches remaining in the campaign.
Marcus Thuram opened the scoring just before half-time with a composed side-footed finish that set the tone for a controlled performance from the hosts.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan added a second-half strike to confirm the victory and officially hand Inter Milan their 21st Italian league title.
The result gives Inter Milan a 12-point lead over Napoli, while AC Milan sit 15 points further behind in third place, making the race for the title mathematically settled.
The triumph marks a strong response from Inter Milan after a difficult end to the previous season, where they narrowly missed out on the title and suffered a heavy Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
Cristian Chivu, appointed last summer to replace Simone Inzaghi, has been credited with revitalising the squad and guiding Inter Milan back to domestic dominance.
Despite limited top-level coaching experience before his appointment, Cristian Chivu has steadily rebuilt the team’s confidence and consistency throughout the season.
