Beşiktaş sporting director Önder Özent has denied reports that the Turkish club has received an official bid from Saudi Arabia for Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi, despite growing speculation over the midfielder’s future.

The 29-year-old Nigerian has been linked with a possible move away from the Turkish Super Lig side this summer, with Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad reportedly interested in securing his services.

Özent confirmed that there is interest in Ndidi from Saudi Arabia but said Beşiktaş are yet to receive any formal proposal.

“There is interest from Saudi Arabia in Ndidi. However, no official written offer has yet arrived. If one comes, we will evaluate it,” Özent said during a press conference on Tuesday.

The comments come amid continued reports linking the defensive midfielder with a move away from Istanbul following his first season with Beşiktaş.

Ndidi joined the Black Eagles from Leicester City last summer after several years in the Premier League, where he established himself as one of Nigeria’s most reliable midfielders.

The Super Eagles captain made 31 appearances across all competitions for Beşiktaş last season, scoring two goals as the club competed in domestic and European competitions.

The Turkish side are expected to consider any suitable offer for Ndidi, although the club’s latest statement suggests no negotiations have formally begun.

A potential move to Saudi Arabia would add Ndidi to the growing list of high-profile African players attracting interest from the league, which has continued to invest heavily in international talent.

For now, Ndidi remains a Beşiktaş player as the club prepares for the new season, while his future continues to attract attention in the transfer market.
