Osimhen leave Galatasaray advice comes from Obinna Nsofor, who says the striker must join a top European contender
Former Super Eagles forward Obinna Nsofor has urged Victor Osimhen to leave Galatasaray this summer, insisting that the Nigerian striker must join a club capable of winning the UEFA Champions League if he hopes to establish himself among the world’s elite forwards.

Nsofor made the remarks while speaking on Brila, where he acknowledged Galatasaray’s status as one of Turkey’s biggest clubs but argued that Osimhen needed to compete consistently at the highest level in European football.
“Victor Osimhen has done enough at Galatasaray. If he truly wants to become the best striker in the world, then he must move to a club that can compete seriously for the UEFA Champions League,” Nsofor said in comments shared on X on Thursday.
“Galatasaray is a big club, nobody can deny that, but when you talk about clubs expected to win the UEFA Champions League, they are not among the favourites.”
Osimhen leave Galatasaray discussions have intensified ahead of the summer transfer window following another outstanding campaign by the Nigerian international in Turkey.
The 27-year-old striker has enjoyed a prolific two-season spell with Galatasaray, scoring 59 goals in 74 appearances and helping the club secure three trophies, including a fourth consecutive league title.
Osimhen sealed the title triumph last weekend with a brace in a 4-2 victory over Antalyaspor.
This season alone, the Super Eagles forward has recorded 15 goals and five assists in 22 league appearances.
Osimhen first gained global attention during the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup, where he finished as top scorer with 10 goals and guided Nigeria to the title.
The striker later impressed at Lille OSC before earning a high-profile move to Napoli.
At Napoli, Osimhen played a decisive role in ending the club’s 33-year wait for the Serie A title during the 2022/23 season, finishing as the league’s top scorer and placing eighth in the Ballon d’Or rankings.
Several major European clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona, have reportedly shown interest in signing the striker ahead of the next transfer window.
Meanwhile, José Mourinho, currently linked with a possible move to Real Madrid, has previously compared Osimhen to former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba after facing him during his time at AS Roma.
A transfer to Chelsea collapsed in 2024, while Osimhen also turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia before choosing to continue his career with Galatasaray.
