Shettima’s media aide, Stanley Nkwocha, disclosed the trip in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the Vice President will lead Nigeria’s delegation at the inaugural Nigeria-Ethiopia Nutrition Leadership Exchange Visit.
Which is designed to enable officials to share experiences and examine strategies for strengthening nutrition programmes at federal, state and local government levels.
“During the visit, the Nigerian team will exchange experiences with Ethiopia on how a government-led plan can improve nutrition delivery.
As well as tour key establishments dedicated to boosting nutrition delivery across the country,” the statement said.
As part of the programme, Shettima and the delegation are expected to visit a wheat farm and a banana plantation in Oromia.
Their itinerary also includes the Bounty of the Basket Training Centre and household visits in Mojo, as well as a visit to Jabdu Motors in Bishoftu.
The delegation includes Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi and Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Abubakar Bagudu, alongside other officials.
The exchange is intended to provide Nigerian officials with an opportunity to learn from Ethiopia’s approach to nutrition planning and delivery.
While sharing Nigeria’s own experiences in coordinating programmes across different levels of government.
Shettima is expected to return to Abuja after completing the engagements in Ethiopia, according to the statement.
The visit comes weeks after the Vice President returned to Nigeria on 28 September 2026, having represented President Bola Tinubu at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States.
