Atlético to Sell Ademola Lookman as Premier League clubs monitor the Nigerian forward amid reports of a potential €60m transfer

Atlético Madrid are prepared to listen to offers for Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman just months after signing him from Atalanta, with reports suggesting the Spanish club could sanction his departure for around €60m this summer.

According to reports from Spain and Turkey cited by Fotospor, Atlético Madrid are willing to consider bids as part of a wider squad restructuring overseen by manager Diego Simeone.

Lookman joined the Spanish giants in February in a deal worth approximately €35m plus add-ons and signed a contract running until 2030.

Despite registering four La Liga goals and adding further strikes in the Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League, the 28-year-old has reportedly struggled to adapt to Atlético’s demanding tactical system.

The club’s coaching staff are said to have concerns about his suitability for Simeone’s defensive requirements, prompting discussions over a potential sale only months after his arrival.

The Atlético Sell Ademola Lookman development is expected to spark significant interest across Europe, particularly in the Premier League, where the Nigerian international remains highly regarded.

Arsenal are among the clubs closely monitoring the situation.

Manager Mikel Arteta is understood to value Lookman’s ability to operate across multiple attacking positions, making him an attractive option as the London club seeks to strengthen its forward line.

Liverpool are also being linked with a move. The Merseyside club tracked Lookman during his successful spell at Atalanta and reportedly view his pace, pressing ability and attacking versatility as qualities well suited to their style of play.

Manchester United have emerged as another potential destination as the club continues its search for greater consistency and productivity from wide attacking areas.

Outside England, Turkish giants Fenerbahçe are expected to renew their interest after previously attempting to sign the Nigerian before Atlético completed the transfer in January.

French champions Paris Saint-Germain are also reported to be keeping tabs on developments, while Italian heavyweights Inter Milan and Juventus remain admirers of the player.

However, Atlético’s reported valuation and Lookman’s estimated annual salary of €6m net could complicate negotiations for Serie A clubs.

Lookman built a formidable reputation during his time with Atalanta, where he scored 55 goals and became a club hero after producing a historic hat-trick in the UEFA Europa League final.

The Nigerian forward previously featured in England for Charlton Athletic, Everton, Fulham and Leicester City, experiences that could prove influential should a Premier League return materialise this summer.
