Rotarian Victor Ojelabi was named among ten recipients of the prestigious District 9112 Superstar Icon Award during the installation of Governor Layi Abidoye on 4 July 2026 at Harbour Point, Lagos

Rotarian Victor Ojelabi, Publisher of Freelanews.com and Deputy Chairman of the Rotary International District 9112 Public Image Committee for the 2026-27 Rotary year, was conferred with the District 9112 Superstar Icon Award on Saturday 4 July 2026.

The honour was bestowed during the installation of Rotarian Olayioye “Layi” Abidoye as the third Governor of District 9112 at Harbour Point Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The Superstar Icon Award celebrates Rotarians across the district who have demonstrated sustained visibility, excellence, and impactful contribution to Rotary’s public image. This year, ten distinguished Rotarians from various clubs and committees received the recognition.

Ojelabi’s award acknowledges his consistent efforts in documenting and amplifying Rotary activities through Freelanews.com and his strategic role on the Public Image Committee.

His work has significantly enhanced the district’s media presence and storytelling capabilities.

The colourful ceremony attracted a strong turnout of Rotarians and notable dignitaries, including District Governor Elect Rtn. Uyi Sowebi, District Governor Nominee Ehi Braimah, and Rotary International President Olayinka Hakeem Babalola, who joined the celebrations on his birthday weekend.

This latest recognition adds to a remarkable season for Ojelabi.

As Chief Executive Officer of Iretura Limited, a full-service media and production agency, he continues to support Rotary through high-quality video production, documentaries, and event coverage.

Iretura produced the internationally awarded documentary for the Rotary Club of Ikoyi Metro that secured third place in the Power of Goodness Video Competition for Zones 21 and 22.

The award ceremony coincided with Governor Abidoye’s formal launch of an ambitious service agenda, which includes the establishment of a major eye hospital and substantial investments in healthcare and emergency response infrastructure.
