Mowe community raises alarm over deteriorating entrance road

Residents of Mowe and Ibafo communities in Ogun State have appealed to the Ogun State Ministry of Works for urgent intervention on the deteriorating Mowe entrance road, citing growing concerns over safety, traffic congestion and the impact on daily movement.

The appeal was made through the Mowe-Ibafo X Community, which called on relevant authorities to assess the condition of the road and begin necessary rehabilitation work.

The community said the poor state of the Mowe Entrance Road has continued to create difficulties for motorists, commercial transport operators and residents, particularly during peak travel periods and the rainy season.

In a statement shared on social media, the group urged the government to prioritise the road’s repair to improve accessibility and reduce the hardship experienced by road users.

“The current state of the road continues to cause hardship for motorists, commercial drivers, and residents, especially during peak hours and the rainy season,” the community said.

Residents noted that improving the route would enhance safety, support economic activities and provide smoother movement for thousands of people who use the road daily.

The call adds to wider concerns about road infrastructure in fast-growing communities around Ogun State, where increasing population and commercial activities have placed additional pressure on existing transport networks.

The community appealed for prompt government attention, stressing that timely repairs would help prevent further deterioration and improve the overall quality of movement within the area.
