The Christ Embassy founder presented the new vehicle range at The New Economy Unveiling 2026, highlighting the church’s push into innovation

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, founder and president of Christ Embassy, unveiled a range of electric vehicles under the Tsion brand in Lagos on Sunday, August 16, 2026, during The New Economy Unveiling 2026, signalling a notable expansion of the church’s activities into technology and economic innovation.

The unveiling formed part of Christ Embassy’s economic and innovation-focused programme, with videos from the event emerging on social media on Tuesday and drawing attention to the vehicles presented by Oyakhilome.

The new range includes the Tsion Passion, Tsion Falcon, Vision series, Vision Coupe and OG series.

During the presentation, Oyakhilome explained that some elements of the vehicles were still being refined, including aspects of the steering wheel design.

He also explained that the “OG” designation means “Of God”.

The development represents an unusual expansion of Christ Embassy’s public-facing activities, bringing automobile development into the church’s broader emphasis on innovation, entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.

The Tsion electric vehicles were unveiled at an event promoted by the LoveWorld Global Fellowship, which had announced three days earlier that The New Economy Unveiling 2026 would take place on Sunday and would be strictly by invitation.

The presentation also drew a strong reaction from Pastor Bolaji Idowu, founder of Harvesters International Christian Centre, who praised Oyakhilome for what he described as the church’s growing presence in the marketplace.

“My mind has been stretched. This is what it means to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world,” Idowu said.

He described the initiative as an example of the church moving beyond conventional religious activities and demonstrating practical capacity in areas traditionally associated with the private sector.

“We are not waiting for them to give us a solution. The church has come to its place; now they have no other option than to listen to us,” Idowu said.

“We are not just preaching the gospel; we are demonstrating the ability of the Spirit, even in the marketplace.”

The comments reflect the wider message behind The New Economy Unveiling, which places emphasis on innovation and economic participation alongside the church’s religious mission.

The vehicle unveiling is particularly significant because electric mobility is becoming an increasingly important part of conversations around cleaner transportation, technological development and the future of the automotive industry.

However, details about the technical specifications, manufacturing arrangements, pricing, production capacity and commercial availability of the newly unveiled vehicles were not provided in the information released from the event.

Oyakhilome’s disclosure that some components were still being refined also suggests that development of at least some of the models remains ongoing.

For Christ Embassy, the unveiling adds automobile technology to its broader portfolio of innovation and economic initiatives, while presenting a striking example of how religious organisations are seeking a more visible role in entrepreneurship and the wider marketplace.

The event therefore marks a potentially significant chapter for the church as it explores how its economic and innovation agenda can translate into tangible ventures beyond its traditional religious activities.
