JTI Nigeria General Manager, Abdallah Simba, said the company remains committed to maintaining a responsible and sustainable business presence while creating long-term value for its employees, partners and other stakeholders.
“Our commitment to Nigeria goes beyond our business operations. As Nigeria celebrates the important milestone of its 66th independence, we recognise the importance of building a responsible and sustainable enterprise that contributes positively to the country’s development while creating long-term value for our employees, partners and stakeholders,” Simba said.
According to the company, its operating philosophy places emphasis on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, ethical business practices and constructive engagement with stakeholders.
Simba said responsible corporate conduct was particularly important in highly regulated industries, where transparency, accountability and adherence to regulatory requirements are central to sustainable operations.
He also highlighted JTI Nigeria’s focus on employee development, diversity and equal opportunity, noting that the company seeks to create an inclusive workplace where employees can develop professionally and contribute meaningfully to the organisation.
As Nigeria continues to navigate an evolving economic environment, Simba expressed confidence in the country’s resilience and its ability to generate opportunities for sustainable business growth.
He said JTI Nigeria would continue to strengthen its relationships with stakeholders while maintaining its commitment to responsible corporate citizenship and contributing to the country’s long-term economic aspirations.
The company’s statement comes against the backdrop of its 18 years of operations in Nigeria, which it said demonstrates its enduring commitment to the country and its stakeholders.
JTI Nigeria is part of Japan Tobacco International, a global tobacco and vaping company headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, with operations in more than 130 countries.
