‘Tinubu 2023’ Atiku spokesman knocks Secondus over Fayose, passes no confidence vote

The spokesman for the Atiku Presidential Campaign in the last election, Segun Showunmi, has came down hard on the national chairman of the opposition party, People’s Democratic Party, Uche Secondus, over what he termed as his indecisiveness at handling the party issues.

Recall that the main opposition party in the country has been enmeshed in crisis ever since the re-emergence of the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, in the leadership struggle for the party in the South West and the demise of Buruji Kashamu, which heralded the re-agitation of Ladi Adebutu for party prominence.

It is no longer news that the ‘anointed leader’ South West leader of the party, Seyi Makinde, is been tackled by Fayose and the latter has severally ignored calls to tread gently.

Many party faithfuls and political pundits believed that the blame for the former governor and Adebutu’s indiscipline rests solely on Secondus’ indecisiveness as a leader.

Showunmi, appearing to be of the school of thought, penned what appeared like a vote of no confidence.

Taking to his Facebook page, he wrote:

“On the unending crisis in South West PDP.

“The burden a loyal party man carries is much. We must remain focused notwithstanding the extreme irritations of those who have benefited from the party any party at that without a care for the consequences of their actions and inactions.

“I expect the Uche Secondus led NWC to be very firm and decisive in its handling of issues.”

As resistance within the party towards this development continues to build, more aggrieved members have been speaking up in anger and want Fayose to be stopped now before he causes grave harm to the party.

Dare Adeleke, a PDP stalwart and chairman of the Oyo Pace Setter Transport Company, was also miffed with Fayose, accused him of ingratitude towards his erstwhile political benefactor, Chief Bode George.

Adeleke has consistently accused Fayose of being nothing but a mole in the PDP, planted to destabilize the party in the activities leading to the 2023 presidential elections as an instrument for the actualisation of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu’s ambition.
