As the world waits with bated breath for the final result of the United States presidential election, most allies of the country have expectedly taken a position on their preferred candidates.

One of such is Nigeria. It is no news that the emergence or re-election of Joe Biden or Donald Trump respectively will have some implications in some of the country’s policies, which directly affect Nigerian citizens anywhere in the world.

In a show of support for the incumbent president, some Nigerians held a parade in Nigeria praying and hoping for his re-election.

The video of the parade got a mention from Trump, which he posted on his Twitter handle with the caption:

A parade for me in Nigeria, a great honor!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 3, 2020

Inspired and encouraged by this post which has garnered over 82.2K retweets, 40.9K quotes and 469.7K likes at the time of pulishing this report, a Nigerian with handle @DSelense wrote:

@realDonaldTrump, we Nigerians are in love with you and we are trying our best to make sure you win this Election but all I ask for is for you to grant us free visa especially me, I love United States and I will like to be there please remember me if you won at the end, good luck.

He almost regretted the comment as angry commenters swamped his response.

The reactions came from both Nigerians and Americans who felt appalled and pained by his unsolicited praise for Trump.

Nobody is inlove with this clown, y’all just think he’s a better leader because you’ve never actually had a good government.

How are you trying hard to get him elected, if your not even a citizen ????? You should focus on your president and how you can make change in Nigeria

— Q. (@StaceyQu_) November 4, 2020

Nigga if you knew half of the shit that goes on inside these walls then you’d be appalled.

And as expected of a typical gbas gbos of Twitter NG, one Jide Johnson delivered a blow.

They just need visa hence the sham rally 🤣😂😂.
