As against the news being circulated that the deadline for the National Identity Number enrollment is today, January 19, 2021, the Nigerian Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, has stated that such should be disregarded.
Pantami, in a post on his official Twitter handle, enjoined Nigerians to not only ignore the message but also revealed the authentic National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) Twitter’s handle.
He debunked the message posted by one, NIMC_ng, which has already gathered 4000likes and retweets. The message goes;

In response, the minister informally wrote:
This is not the official handle of the Nationa Identity Management commission (NIMC). The official handle is @nimc_ng. Beware of fraudsters, pls.
