The Zamfara State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says Former Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, Senator Kabiru Garba Mafara, and other top APC members have finally defected to the people’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Briefing journalists in Gusau on Sunday after the State Working Committee meeting, the state PDP chairman, Colonel Bala Mande (rtd) said, the party has received Yari, Marafa, and other top APC members, who have joined the party together with their supporters. He said they are only waiting to formally welcome them to the party.

“Our strength has been boosted and we are confident that we will establish a government in Zamfara state 2023,” he said.

Colonel Mande said, “the essence of today’s meeting is to give an update to our stakeholders on the joining of our party by former governor, His Excellency Abdulaziz Yari, and his group who have joined us from APC to PDP”.

He said the PDP and former governor Abdulaziz Yari and his group had reached an agreement with them to join their folk, and they are going to implement the said agreement.

“We have agreed to be together in one party the umbrella and work together for the success of the party and for the rescue of Zamfara State,” he said.

According to him, the meeting was to give the party stakeholders update on the plans of defection of the Former Governor Abdulaziz Yari, Senator Kabiru Marafa, and their supporters to the PDP.
