In a significant move to alleviate the impact of subsidy removal, His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has approved the allocation of ₦5,000,000,000 (Five Billion Naira Only) to each state as part of a palliative measure.

This generous gesture by the federal government has been widely acknowledged as a positive step towards providing relief to the citizens. However, concerns have been raised about the proper administration of these funds by state governors.

In Ogun State, there is a call for Governor Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun – MFR to reciprocate the federal government’s gesture by sharing a portion of the fund on an “Ori-O-J’ori” basis with the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs).

This move, according to a stakeholder in the affairs of the state, Comr. Ambassador Adegbokiki Kamor, would enable the LGAs to undertake significant projects that symbolize the conclusion of their administrations.

Furthermore, it would provide the governor with a substantial number of projects to commission on behalf of all the LGAs in the state.

He opined that the availability of this fund to the LGA Chairmen would empower them to leave a lasting legacy for the communities they have served.

He wrote:

I just hear of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu approval of ₦5,000,000,000 (Five Billion Naira Only) to each state as part of the palliative to cushion the effects of Subsidy removal.

This is a good move by the federal government and it’s well acknowledged.

Now, the concern is how our state helmsmen will administer this funds.

But for us in Ogun state, I want to appeal to our listening governor, His Excellency, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun – MFR to reciprocate this gesture from the Federal government by sharing a part of this fund in “Ori-O-J’ori” basis with the 20 Local Government Areas.

This fund if available to our LGA Chairmen will allow them do some landmark “send forth” projects attached to their administration and the governor will have sizeable number of projects to commission on behalf of the all the 20 LGAs in the state.

May God Continue to bless the governor and grant him people of strength and courage to help him deliver on his good intentions for the state.

Accept the assurances of my esteem regards as always.

Dapo Abiodun
