A Nigerian lady based in Italy, Glory Omokaro, has accused FirstBank of Nigeria of emptying her account of N68 million, leaving her with a meager N3,000.
The shocking revelation was made during a live broadcast on the popular Berekete Family programme by Peter Eberobe, who represented Omokaro on the programme.
While narrating the sequence of events leading to the alleged heist, he revealed that Omokaro traveled to Italy in 2005 and returned to Nigeria in 2013 for a visit.

During her visit, she opened a savings account with FirstBank located at Ring Road in Benin City, Edo State.
While residing in Italy, Omokaro regularly deposited funds into the account and maintained communication with the bank’s manager, Gabriel.
In 2018, during another visit to Nigeria, she activated the online platform for her account and also applied for an ATM card, allowing her to monitor her account virtually.

However, in 2021, the Italy-based lady received a notification that both the online platform and her ATM card had expired. The bank manager informed her that she needed to come back to Nigeria in order to reactivate them.
Trusting the bank, Omokaro made the journey to Nigeria in May 2023 only to discover, to her utter shock and disbelief, that her entire life savings had vanished from her account.
Despite her pleas for an explanation, the bank was unable to provide a reasonable reason for the disappearance of her funds.

FirstBank, one of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions, has yet to comment on the matter.
