A viral video shared by popular Nigerian activist, Charly Boy, depicting a lawyer burning his wig in protest of the Presidential Election Tribunal’s verdict affirming Tinubu as the winner of the recent election, has been revealed as doctored.
Contrary to Charly Boy’s narrative, the event actually took place in Jamaica in 2022 when an attorney protested for the removal of the Privy Council as the final court.

The initial video shared by Charly Boy quickly gained traction on social media platforms, attracting attention and sparking discussions about the alleged tampering of election results in Nigeria.
He wrote:
How Pathetic. A lawyer burnt his wig to say good bye to practice. Nigeria Judiciary has slaughtered justice.
I bin don know dis demonic outcome since last week, but just waiting to see if dem yeye judges fit pull a stunt.
Na now wey we go come know the full meaning of hardship. Brace up.

However, a closer examination of the footage has exposed the misleading nature of the video.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that the incident captured in the video occurred in Jamaica, not Nigeria, and was related to the attorney’s protest against the Privy Council’s role as the ultimate court of appeal in the North American country.
Unlike Charly Boy’s video, where faces were intentionally cropped out, the unedited version offers a comprehensive view of the attorney’s demonstration and the context surrounding it.
This new evidence sheds light on the true motivation behind the act and helps to dispel any misconceptions created by the doctored video initially shared by Charly Boy.
