The Celestial Church of Christ Clergy’s Welfare Scheme received big boost during the week as the church handed over the cheque for the payment of the Clergies Group Life Insurance Scheme to the insurance brokerage firm, Hogg Robinson Nigeria. This is a great turning point for the church in its quest to ensure the welfare of its clergy and their dependants.

Present at the occasion was a Manager with the Brokers; Mr Akin Akinlowo, Ven Sup J. S. Kuti representing the Pastor/Spiritual Head, Ven Sup. J. Olabode (Chairman C.C.C. Clergy’s Welfare Committee), Ven. Sup. Udoffia Allen-Jones, (Secretary, CCC Clergy’s Welfare Committee) and AVSE Tunde Osibanjo; (Member). The committee has since commenced the enrollment of more Shepherds for the scheme.

It is noteworthy that the C.C.C. Clergy’s Welfare Insurance Scheme, was approved by the Pastor and Supreme Head of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide, His Eminence, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa, on the 10th of February, 2022.

According to a statement by the CCC Worldwide mdedia head, Dr. Kayode Ajala, many shepherds showed a lot of apathy to it.

“Unfortunately, a lot of Shepherds have shown an apathy to the scheme to the displeasure of His Eminence. This is more so as Shepherds and Clergy men and women are dying by the day. Statistics made available reveal that more than fifty Shepherds have died since the commencement of the scheme and sadly, none of them subscribed to the insurance scheme before their deaths, thereby depriving their dependants of a cumulative totaling hundreds of millions in benefits.

“The most painful was a top Divisional Head who distributed 250 forms to Shepherds within his jurisdiction but didn’t fill a copy of the form for himself until he passed on a few months back.

“This is calling on all C.C.C. Clergy to join the scheme and to spread the good news,” Dr. Ajala stated.
