The US Department of Homeland Security will deport 79 Nigerians convicted of serious crimes, including fraud, drug offences, assault, and manslaughter, under a crackdown on criminal immigrants

According to DHS, the convicts were found guilty of offences including fraud, drug trafficking, assault, manslaughter, and robbery.

The deportations form part of a broader US crackdown on criminal and illegal immigrants.

The DHS statement read: “Under Secretary Noem’s leadership, the hardworking men and women of DHS and ICE are fulfilling President Trump’s promise and carrying out mass deportations, starting with the worst of the worst, including the illegal aliens you see here.”

The deportees include notable names such as Boluwaji Akingunsoye, Ejike Asiegbunam, Emmanuel Mayegun Adeola, Bamidele Bolatiwa, Ifeanyi Nwaozomudoh, Aderemi Akefe, Solomon Wilfred, Chibundu Anuebunwa, Joshua Ineh, Usman Momoh, and Oluwole Odunowo, among others.

Others on the list are Oludayo Adeagbo, Olaniyi Akintuyi, Talatu Dada, Olatunde Oladinni, Jelili Qudus, Abayomi Daramola, Toluwani Adebakin, Olamide Jolayemi, Isaiah Okere, Benji Macaulay, Joseph Ogbara, and more.

The move highlights the Trump administration’s ongoing policy of strict enforcement against criminal immigrants, affecting many Nigerians living in the United States.
