The incident was confirmed by the Ogun State Police Command on Tuesday.

Police spokesperson Oluseyi Babaseyi said the matter was reported to the Atan Ijebu Division after the deceased was found motionless in her room.

According to police accounts, Adebayo had been in a relationship with Oniga Abiola since September 2025, and the couple had been planning to marry.

However, family members of the fiancé reportedly opposed the union after learning that she had three children from a previous relationship.

Babaseyi stated that on February 12, 2026, it was reported that Adebayo allegedly ingested Sniper insecticide following the family disagreement.

She was rushed to the General Hospital in Ijebu Ode, where doctors confirmed her dead on arrival.

“Detectives visited the scene and the hospital, photographs were taken and no visible marks of violence were found on the body. Investigation is ongoing,” Babaseyi said.
