Multiple French media outlets, including France 24, reported on Tuesday that the investigative phase of the case has ended. Judicial sources and the player’s legal team confirmed the development.
The case stems from a complaint filed on February 26, 2023, by a then-24-year-old woman.
She alleged she was raped at Hakimi’s home in Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris, after the pair met via social media.
The incident allegedly occurred on February 24, 2023. Five days later, a formal indictment was issued against the former Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid player, who was 24 at the time.
In August 2025, prosecutors in Nanterre requested that the matter be sent to trial before a criminal court.
Tuesday’s confirmation marks the conclusion of the investigation, with the investigating judge deciding to proceed to trial.
Hakimi, now 27, has consistently denied the accusation. He maintains that the encounter was consensual.
In a statement posted on X on Tuesday, the defender expressed frustration over the process while reaffirming his innocence.
“Today, a rape accusation is enough to justify a trial, even though I deny it and everything proves it’s false.
“This is as unjust to the innocent as it is to the genuine victims. I calmly await this trial, which will allow the truth to come out publicly,” he stated.
No trial date has been announced.
