Adeleke made the declaration in a statement on Monday, describing himself as the custodian of the state’s mandate and pledging to continue defending the interests of Osun residents.
The governor said he remained optimistic about his chances in the forthcoming poll because of what he described as the tangible achievements recorded by his administration since assuming office.
“Today, by the grace of God and the support of the good people of Osun, I have been divinely affirmed as the goalkeeper to man the goalpost of Osun State Government against any potential intruder,” Adeleke stated.
He maintained that his government’s performance would form the foundation of its re-election campaign, arguing that residents would assess candidates based on their records in office.
According to the governor, investments in critical sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, education and workers’ welfare, have positively impacted communities across the state.
Adeleke also announced plans to embark on a statewide campaign tour ahead of the election, during which he intends to visit towns and villages to present his administration’s achievements and outline a revised development blueprint.
The governor said the campaign would feature an updated Five-Point Agenda aimed at accelerating development and improving the welfare of residents.
As political activities gather momentum ahead of the election, Adeleke called on opposition parties to focus on issue-based campaigns rather than political rhetoric.
He urged political actors to allow voters to make informed decisions based on performance, facts and policy alternatives.
“I call on the opposition to stop running away from issue-based campaigns and allow Osun people decide based on facts, performance and truth,” he said.
The governor further expressed confidence that continued public support and grassroots mobilisation would deliver victory for his party in the election.
“With God on our side and the people behind us, victory is assured. Imole continuity is imminent,” Adeleke added.
