Agege youth skills training sponsorship empowers 18 residents with vocational education to boost entrepreneurship and economic growth

The leadership of Agege Local Government has sponsored 18 young residents for vocational and technical training programmes at the Lagos State Cooperative College as part of efforts to strengthen youth empowerment and economic development in the community.

The initiative was announced in Lagos on Thursday, 7 May 2026, with officials describing the programme as a strategic investment in the future of young people within the local government area.

The beneficiaries will undergo training in specialised fields including Electrical Installation, Plumbing and Pipefitting, Welding and Fabrication, Computer Science, and Cooperative Economics and Management.

According to organisers, the Agege youth skills training sponsorship is designed to provide participants with practical and employable skills capable of improving self reliance and reducing unemployment among young people.

Officials noted that the programme also aims to encourage entrepreneurship and prepare beneficiaries for long term economic opportunities in both technical and business sectors.
