‘Aketi wins!’ Tokunbo Wahab congratulates APC campaign council chair on feat

The Special Adviser on Education, Lagos, Tokunbo Wahab, has congratulated the chairman of the All Progressives Congress’ 104-member National Campaign Council for the Ondo Governorship Election and the executive governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the successfully outcome of the governorship election last Saturday.

Recall that Sanwo-Olu, deputised by the executive governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, was appointed in August to ensure and secure the ruling party’s hold in the Sunshine state.

The SA stated that the governor’s sagacity in never in doubt as the giant strides he has recorded at his primary duty post as Lagos governor are testimonies to that.

“While it is in order to congratulate the All Progressives Congress as a party, it is heartwarming to know that the governor (Sanwo-Olu) delivered yet again on the first national assignment the ruling party entrusted in his care.

“I was not really surprised though, because the testimonies of his achievements in Lagos State are there for all to see, giving credence to the fact that his leadership dexterity is never in doubt,” Wahab said.

The Ondo election, which was won by the incumbent governor and candidate of APC, Barr. Rotimi Akeredolu, by wide margin, was mostly peaceful.

According to the result announced by the returning officer and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof Idowu Olayinka, Akeredolu polled 292,830 votes to defeat Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 195,791 votes, while the former’s deputy, Agboola Ajayi, trailed by garnering just 69,127 votes. The total number of registered voters was 1,693,425 and those accredited to vote were over 552,757 in number.

While also commending the other members of the campaign council, APC supporters and the good people of Ondo State for the right choice, Tokunbo Wahab believed that the new administration will not disappoint.

“It is a new dawn in Ondo State as the executive governor clinches another four years of transformational agenda for the Sunshine State. The people believed in him and with the hardwork of the campaign council, headed by Mr. Sanwo-Olu, Barr. Akeredolu will not betray their trusts,” he concluded.
