Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has unveiled a comprehensive plan to boost safety, reawaken traditional values, and elevate education and youth development across Anambra State.

The initiatives, announced during the 11th Executive Council meeting held at the new Government House in Awka on Monday, aim to transform key sectors through structural reforms and civic responsibility.
To address increasing road hazards, Soludo’s administration will begin a robust training and retraining programme for drivers.
Those found committing major traffic offences will face blacklisting — a disciplinary measure to promote safer roads and more responsible driving.
In a broader social intervention, the state is launching the Anambra Rebirth Programme, designed to revive core Igbo values such as integrity and hard work.
Citing the Igbo proverb “Aka aja aja na-ebute onu mmanụ mmanụ”, the governor’s team highlighted the importance of industriousness in achieving true progress.
The programme seeks to correct behavioural drift and rekindle civic pride across communities.
Education is also at the heart of Soludo’s reforms. The council has approved the rehabilitation of more public schools following the settlement of inherited counterpart financing arrears and the anticipated federal contribution.
Happiness and success are based on hard work.
As part of its digital pivot, the state has replaced traditional interactive boards with smart boards and distributed tablets to teachers in 22 smart schools, reinforcing its push for a modern learning environment.
Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, said the reforms are part of Soludo’s larger vision to revolutionise the education sector.
This vision includes scaling the Solution Innovation District (SID) initiative, which has already benefited over 30,000 youths with digital training in technology, business, and enterprise.
The reforms align with existing programmes like One-Youth-Two-Skill, Code Anambra, and One Million Digital Tribe, each offering vocational and digital training.
Successful participants are rewarded with laptops and job placements, giving young people both the tools and the confidence to thrive in a changing economy.
Governor Soludo’s multi-sector reform plan signals a decisive commitment to shaping a safer, smarter, and more value-driven Anambra.
